Cloying
Cloying 是一个形容词。它常用来形容那些甜得发腻的食物，或者那些过于多情、肉麻以至于让人感到不舒服的言语或艺术作品。
- The dessert was so cloying that I couldn’t finish it. (甜点太腻了，我吃不完。)
- I found the movie’s cloying sentimentality quite unbearable. (我觉得这部电影甜腻的情感渲染简直让人受不了。)
- He tried to woo her with cloying compliments. (他试图用那些肉麻的称赞来追求她。)
记：Cloy-ing。发音类似“苦（Cloy）赢了（ing）”。因为太甜了，甜到发苦，让人想赢过这种感觉。或者联想 close (关闭)，因为太腻了所以想把嘴巴关上。
The room was filled with the cloying scent of cheap perfume. (房间里弥漫着廉价香水那股甜腻得令人作呕的味道。)
